Volunteers Registered for 2021 FISU WUG Exceeds 690,000


On 25 February, the Department of Volunteers of the Executive Committee of the Chengdu 2021 FISU World University Games held a plenary meeting to inform the progress of the preparatory work and the emphasis of the next stage.



Up to now, more than 5,000 leading volunteers have been recruited, and the number of registered city volunteers has exceeded 690,000. It is expected to recruit 20,000 volunteers for the Games in total, and the first batch of university volunteers from Chengdu for the 2021 FISU WUG has been recruited, online tested, and selected.



The Department of Volunteers has organised more than 200 online and offline training courses for volunteers and has called volunteers for participating in the "8.18 Ceremony", marking the one-year countdown to the Chengdu 2021 FISU World University Games, along with other important activities. Also, the Department of Volunteers launched the "Chengdu 2021 FISU World University Games Volunteer Recruitment Ceremony" on 5 December and will push forward the solicitation for the volunteer image logo, nickname and slogan, whose results will be announced in the near future. What's more, the Department of Volunteers has taken the lead in promoting the 2021 FISU WUG in schools. 



Next, various tasks will be further conducted by the Department of Volunteers, such as arranging volunteer positions, strengthening the connection with the Organising Committee of the Ekaterinburg 2023 FISU World University Games, promoting the volunteer recruitment, speeding up the progress of relevant training and activities, as well as improving the work system for voluntary service.
