Chengdu 2021 FISU Games Holds First Comprehensive Practical Rehearsal

Chengdu 2021

From 15 to 23 April, the first comprehensive practical rehearsal set in the final day of fencing competitions was conducted for the Chengdu 2021 FISU World University Games, in an effort to examine and improve the preparations for the Games.

The preparations from 15 to 21 April included the launch of the Chengdu 2021 app, accreditation and card preparation for participants, and so on.

From 22 to 23 April, the Main Command Centre rehearsed the all-day operation of Pidu Sports Centre Gymnasium - a competition venue for fencing during the Games.

The rehearsal covered nine subjects, including work meetings, data collection, situation analysis, and event handling and tracking. Incidents such as scoring system failure were also designed and put to test relevant departments’ ability to deal with emergencies.

Some reporters from local media also participated in the rehearsal. Moreover, the pickup for media workers outside Chengdu was simulated at Chengdu Tianfu International Airport.

All departments of the Chengdu 2021 FISU Games will learn from the rehearsal process and make corresponding improvements, so as to present an exceptional FISU Games to the world.
