Volunteer Selection of Chengdu 2021 FISU Games in Full Swing
The selection of "Little Green Pepper" - volunteers of the Chengdu 2021 FISU World University Games is in full swing as the Games approaches.
By the end of November 2021, over one million students had registered as volunteers for the Chengdu 2021 FISU Games. There are many highlights in the volunteer selection.
"Language volunteers are an integral part of the organising team. They are showing the visitors the spirit and responsibility of China's youths while responsible for communication and cultural exchange. In addition, the language volunteers are expected to have a knowledge of sports, the city's history and culture, and Sichuan cuisine. They are supposed to be a bridge between Chengdu and foreign visitors, so that the world can understand and fall in love with Chengdu through this global event," said an officer from the Chengdu 2021 FISU Games Executive Committee when talking about language volunteer recruitment.
Volunteers for flag-raising are required to be university students with good features, proportionate physique, coordinated movements, good psychological quality and excellent physical ability. Li Jinyu, a sophomore at Sichuan Police College, cheered up interviewers in the room with his vigorous energy. When asked about his motivation for volunteering, Li Jinyu said, "The Games has provided me with a platform to bring my potential into play. In the process of volunteering, I can not only appreciate my value but also gain a group of like-minded friends, which I find very meaningful."
Recruitment of performance volunteers for the opening ceremony was also worth a mention. "The students present were all highly skilled!" The judges on site added that the students from Sichuan Normal University were particularly outstanding. They performed many quality original programmes combining elements such as Bashu culture, sports and a park city, winning the applause of the audience and judges present.
