1. The "Autumn in Chengdu" International Music Season to kick off
The 26th "Autumn in Chengdu" International Music Season was officially launched on September 15th, 2020. During the three-month event, more than 80 musical events will be staged. Well-known Chinese orchestras such as the Choir of Central Conservatory of Music, Chinese National Orchestra of Chongqing, Guiyang Symphony Orchestra, and Shanghai Rainbow Chamber Singers as well as renowned Chinese musicians like Lyu Siqing, Yin Qing, and Zhang Qianyi will present their performance during the music season.
2. Chengdu to launch International Youth Orienteering Invitational Tournament
On September 18th, 2020, the "Love Chengdu, Embrace the Games" International Youth Orienteering Invitational Tournament will kick off in the scenic spot of Weiran Flower Sea. Under the guidance of the Urban-Rural Community Development and Governance Committee and the Culture, Sports and Tourism Bureau of Longquanyi District, it is sponsored by Tong'an Subdistrict Office and undertaken by Chengdu Weiyang Ecological Agriculture Co., Ltd. (Weiran Flower Sea). Following the theme "Leading at Present to Make Dreams Come True", this tournament will involve various forms including sports, athletics, experience, food, etc. based on local featured industries in Longquanyi District, Chengdu.
3. Chengdu Metro Line 18 to put in use
The first section of Chengdu Metro Line 18 will be put into operation in September 2020. Being partly parallel to each other, Line 18 and Line 1 will form dual traffic channels in the north-south direction of Chengdu. Line 18 will provide southbound passengers with more choices.
There are five inside transfer stations and one outside transfer point on Lines 18 and 1. South Railway Station, Incubation Park, Century City, Haichang Road and Western China International Expo City are stations for inside transfer, while Jincheng Plaza on Line 1 and Jincheng Plaza East on Line 18 for outside transfer.
4. Chengdu to launch "Children's Museum on Weekends"
From September 11th, 2020, China's first weekend night activity for teenagers, the "Children's Museum on Weekends", will be held at Chengdu Museum from 18:30 to 20:30 every Friday and Saturday. All visitors can enter the museum as usual, but the activity is limited to children under 14.
5. The First Earth Art Season·Land of Abundance Unveils
On September 8, 2020, the First Earth Art Season·Land of Abundance took place in Qionglai, Chengdu. With the theme "All Things Grow on the Land of Abundance", the one-month art season integrates the lifestyle and cultural characteristics of Chengdu people with "Linpan" (traditional rural communities) in Western Sichuan and the land of Chengdu through earth art installations and a series of themed activities, allowing the public to appreciate the unique charm of Chengdu culture.
