On November 12, the Executive Committee of the Chengdu 2021 FISU World University Games, FISU and FUSC (Federation of University Sports of China) held a video conference on the preparatory work for the Games. Eric Saintrond, secretary general and CEO of FISU, and Wang Fengchao, deputy secretary of Chengdu Municipal Committee of the CPC, mayor of Chengdu city, and chairman of the Executive Committee of the 2021 FISU WUG, attended the conference.
Regarding the COVID-19 countermeasures that FISU concerns, the Executive Committee stated that a plan of COVID-19 control during the FISU WUG Time has been made, which will implement the strict policies including health declaration, temperature examination, nucleic acid and blood acid test, and "14days+7days+7days" medical observation. Besides, during the FISU WUG Time, "5-All" policies will be implemented, which include "all-process closed-loop management, nucleic acid testing for all, access inspection for all, all-round disinfection, and all-round symptom monitoring".
On behalf of the Executive Committee, Wang Fengchao appreciated FISU and FUSC for their concern and support for the Games' preparatory work, and welcomed the FISU officials to Chengdu for guidance in the middle of this month. He also stated that Chengdu will continuously strengthen communication with FISU and FUSC and make preparations according to the standard of the Games. Later Chengdu will conduct work regarding the drills of the demonstration venue and the preparations of the Head of Delegations Meeting of the Games. Meanwhile, Chengdu will pay close attention to the current global COVID-19 situation and provide high-quality medical observation and service for FISU guests during their quarantine time. Chengdu will keep close contact with the Tokyo Olympic Games to serve the athletes who also participated the Tokyo Olympics.
