On November 8th, the party leadership group of the Executive Committee of the Chengdu 2021 FISU World University Games convened its second meeting, briefing on the general progress of the preparatory work for the Games, and arranging the key tasks for the near future.
Up to now, 61 Functional Deputy Director-General of 22 departments of the Executive Committee have been in place. 100 delegations worldwide from the United States, the United Kingdom, Germany, France, Japan, South Korea, India and other countries and regions, have shown their willingness to participate in the Games. Invitations have been sent out to 221 deledations for the Head of Delegations Meeting of the Games, which is scheduled to be held next April. The preparatory work, such as the route planning of venue inspection and the scheme of the draw ceremony, should be sped up. The visual standard manual and the design of the medals and the torch have been roughly completed, and the overall operation plans for award ceremonies have been drafted.
In the near future, a wide variety of projects should be promoted. The schedule of 123 key tasks should be implemented in time and in good order. The construction of infrastructure and information system should be carried out as planned. Drills of the demonstration venue should be conducted during the last two months of this year, and the planning of venue operation needs to be improved. Publicity and promoting events of the Games should be conducted actively, and the HoD Meeting needs to be prepared thoroughly. Risk assessment and management of the Games should be taken into consideration, and relevant work regarding accreditation, security, catering, medical care, and transportation should be pushed.
