On September 29, 2020, the Executive Committee of the Chengdu 2021 FISU World University Games signed a contract with Didi Chuxing (also known as DiDi), and the latter became the official supporter of "ridesharing" for the Games. DiDi is the world's leading mobile transportation and local services platform, which offers a full range of app-based transportation and life services for over 550 million users. Over 10 billion passenger trips were provided on the platform in 2019.
Didi Chuxing will support the Games by providing services such as car/bike sharing, freight transport and vehicle custody during the Games for participants of the Games and city volunteers.
Cheng Wei, chairman and CEO of Didi Chuxing, stated that the Games' principles "Sustainable, Smart, Spirited, Shared" coincide with DiDi. Taking this international multi-sport event as a chance, DiDi will continuously improve its innovation in technology in order to support smart and sustainable transportation. DiDi will contribute to the building of "World Tournament City" of Chengdu as well.
