Recently the torch tower of the Chengdu 2021 FISU World University Games has been put into a lighting trial.
The torch tower, an expanded version of the Chengdu 2021 FISU Games torch "Rong Huo", is standing erect in Dong'an Lake Sports Park, the central area of the World University Games Park.
The torch tower, which is 31 meters in height, represents the Chengdu 2021 FISU Games. Its main body is composed of 12 curves, symbolising the 12 rays of the sun. All of the curves spiral up to the top, jointly supporting the ignition device shaped like the ancient igniting implement "Yangsui".
The lighting control system of the tower has functions like automatic On/Off light switch, lighting scene identification. It can set different control modes such as usual, holiday and major festival according to the usage.
The light can change its colour according to the surroundings, which is efficient and energy-saving.
The lighting modes involve a flame lighting mode during the Games and a normal mode.
During the Games, the flame lighting mode will be turned on. We will see the flame surge toward the top of the torch tower. After the Games, the burning moment of the Games flame can be reproduced by the holographic projection technology and will thus become a stunning landscape of the city.
For the normal mode, we can view light beams radiating into the sky from a high-altitude projection lamp, illuminating brightly in the open surrounding environment, and the tower will be a symbolic must-go point for snap-taking at night.
At present, gas and power equipment at the top of the tower is all in place.
The special gas nozzle structure can achieve rain-proof and adjust the flame colour.
The combustion device of the tower, which is equipped with eight igniters to prevent flame root from being cut off, ensures that the flame will not be extinguished in extreme weather like strong Category 9 wind.
The gas supply and power system of the tower has been backed up in case of emergency of sudden failure.
In the following ignition equipment debugging stage, the project team will coordinate the technical team to test all equipment of the ignition system, in an effort to keep the tower running smoothly.
