African Continent Highlighted in FISU Student Ambassador Cultural Webinar

FISU Students Ambassadors got a closer look into the African continent during the first-ever cultural webinar. With the Federation of African University Sports (FASU) celebrating its 50th anniversary this year, it was none other than special guest and FASU President, Ms. Nomsa Mahlangu who welcomed participants worldwide and highlighted the beauty and diversity of the African continent.

Adebayo Olatunde from Nigeria took the floor and introduced an overview of the African continent, where participants learned about the activities of various African nations. This was followed by a virtual fair, the first event of its kind where participants "travelled" from one country to another and were introduced with cultural activities.

As part of the virtual fair, Jihad Hamadi from Libya, wrote the names in Arabic and presented the overview of Libyan culture. Heba Assem from Egypt spoke about rich Egyptian culture and cuisine, while Ahmed Wehlie from Somalia facilitated a quiz on African players abroad followed by a quiz on African songs. Abassier Leukes of Namibia also conducted a quiz on African flags, which also served as an activity to learn about African countries in detail.
