The competition will take place in Ekaterinburg between 29 September and 9 October, 2022.
In less than a year, student-athletes from all over the world will arrive at the capital of Ural. They will participate in a tournament that unites 6 combat sports disciplines: boxing, Muay Thai, karate, wushu, and wrestling. All competitions will take place at the Ekaterinburg-EXPO International Exhibition Centre.
The unique FISU World Cup format has been successfully run since 2015. It implies athletes competing not for countries but rather for their universities. This way of holding competitions makes them especially exciting and opens a way onto the international stage to a larger number of student-athletes.
For Ekaterinburg, the World Cup will become an important test before the 2023 FISU World University Games. The city will welcome student sports associations’ delegations from many countries, as well as students from all over Russia.
Sverdlovsk Region is actively preparing to receive athletes and guests. Visa-free entry to the country has already been ensured for delegations, while everyone can better acquaint themselves with the upcoming competitions on the official tournament website: https://ekat2022.fisucombatsports.com/
